Exploring Paphos

Writer: Meg Meg

Got up at 10 to hop on the bus to Paphos. The ride took about an hour. It was crazy windy, the bus was getting blown around.

Once we arrived, we headed right to a restaurant as we had not eaten yet. The food was so good!

After we ate, we hopped on a different bus to head to towards the first historical site we wanted to check out. On the way, we saw the main street in Paphos. It's right on the water! We then explored the Kato Paphos Archaeological park. It was very windy and a bit cold but we walked fast to stay warm.

After about an hour, we headed to the Tombs of Kings. There are actually no kings in the tombs, only rich citizens and politicians. It looked a lot like the park we had just been in so we left pretty quickly.

We tried to call a couple taxis to bring us to the Aperitdes Rock. They were gonna over charge us so we took the bus again. The bus ride was really quick. We had perfect timing and got to the rock by sunset! It was so beautiful!!

We struggled a bit to find a taxi for the way back because we got on the days last bus to the Aperitdes Rock. Is was pitch black when we finally got someone to come.

Once we got back to Limassol, the city the ship is porting in, we headed straight to a restaurant for dinner. The dinner was very good and actually not too expensive. Once we finished eating, we took the bus back to the ship terminal. We relaxed for a bit then changed to go out for some drinks. We, of course, found other SAS people also looking for an open bar. We are again the only tourist on the island, it doesn’t help that it's a Sunday.

We found a restaurant that was open and had a place for our group of 13. We had some drinks and talked some more then headed back to the ship as I had a curfew because of a field class tomorrow.
