Started the day of a little late, tired from the night before. New Years was fun, we ran outside at midnight to see fireworks in the plaza. We also saw a car on fire after that, kinda crazy.
Got ready for the morning and walked around a bit trying to find a restaurant to eat at. We are finding it difficult to get seats at restaurants without reservations. We finally found a place, the workers however did not speak English so ordering was kinda a funny. We were not really sure what we ordered but it all worked out in the end.
We then headed out to see some sites. We headed to the Spanish steps for the first stop. Then walked though some really cute alley towards Piazza Navona. Then grabbed a seat at a restaurant for some drinks and some snacks.
We then headed towards the monuments. First we walked to the Patheon. It was closed due to the holiday so we did not go in. Then we walked to the Trevi fountain. It was so busy. We mostly just walked by it and took some photos. Then we headed towards the coliseum. We met up with another group of girls going on semester at sea. Then I made people roll down the grass hill by the coliseum with me. (Side note: I have wanted to roll down this hill since the last time I visited Rome with my family in high school.) So dreams came true today :)
After the coliseum we walked to a local restaurant and had some wine and just enjoyed the moment. After we finished at the restaurant we walked back towards the Trevi fountain to get crepes and gelato. Soooo good!!
Headed home after walking almost 7 miles and called it a day :)
Great photos Megan. Amazing actually. Love you
