Rome Day 4

We all tried to get ourselves up a little earlier this morning to offset the jet lag. It didn’t work very well. However, tomorrow morning we have no choice as we booked train tickets to Naples.

Started the morning with a hot shower! (the water heater was turned off the day before so everyone took ice bath showers). Then we made our way to a coffee shop by the Vatican for breakfast and a coffee. Best breakfast turn out yet! Really yummy bread and meat sandwiches. From breakfast we headed back to the abnb and met the rest of the group. We then added some layers and headed towards the shopping district. All the stores were very high end so we didn’t end up buying anything. After the stroll we headed towards a Piazza we had not seen yet. It was called Piazza del Popolo. The square was beautiful, families and children were running around in the square. It also had some beautiful fountains as well.

After the quick stop in the Piazza we headed towards the adorable shopping area where I bought new shorts for sleeping. We kept heading towards the center of Rome to check out a ice bar. We got a little hungry and tired so we stopped for a snack as the girls I was with wanted to try the Italian McDonalds, they rated it better than the US.

Once we finally arrived at the ice bar we realized it didn’t open tell 5 pm. So we stopped by another bar in the mean time. The ice bar was cold but so fun!! We met up with another person doing SAS and his mom and took some shots together. It was actually very fun. We then took an Uber to the restaurant where we made a reservation. The Uber driver taught us some Italian swear words. We definitely said it all wrong.

When we finally arrived at the restaurant we where slightly drunk, with the SAS mom. We had the best food yet in Rome. The dinner was very fun but we definitely were the annoying Americans in the restaurant.

We decided to walk home from the restaurant. We ended up walking almost 2 miles home, however, it was fun we all talked and laughed the entire way home. It was a great last night in Rome.
