Woke up at 7 am to head to the ski hill. We had met some locals the night before that gave us information on where and when to go. They were so nice, both growing up in Cyprus and having now started their own business - literally very cool people! They also informed us that snow does not happen much in the mountains. So finding a ride was hard, as they are all afraid to drive in the snow. They were in shock and taking photos the entire drive as they have never seen the road with snow on it. It was apparently the first snow fall of the year.
Good thing we were told is to come early as the line tripled in size by the time the rental place opened at 9am. The line took a while and we got pretty cold waiting given we didn’t have the correct clothing. The ski area also had no lockers to store our bags so someone had to sit with them. It was kind of unfortunate as I sat in the lodge because it was snowing and I wanted to hit the slopes. Its okay though as I bought pita, hummus, and a Corona.
The skiing was fun and I’m glad we did it. The mountain was so tiny. I think we did every run for four hours.
We decided to head back at around 2pm but it was very difficult to find a taxi. We were lucky to find one sitting on the side of the road. The drive down was also a little scary - the taxis don’t really know how to drive in the snow. Once we got back we just relaxed and changed for the night out. We are all exhausted from the busy day and lack of food.
We took the bus from the ship terminal to the restaurant. Definitely got lots of looks walking on the street. The dinner place looked interesting but it ended up being so good. I ate three full meals. They all tasted amazing:)) I was so happy to eat good food.
After we ate, we headed back to another SAS student's airbnb. We drank for a while then headed home.
