Disembarking took a bit longer because we had to meet officials in person again. We got off the ship around 11am and headed straight to the hostel. We were able to check-in quite early and set our things in the room. We headed to a café for some food and free wifi. We scheduled all our dinners and the last couple excursions for Sweden just before getting kicked out of the café. Apparently, computers are not allowed in cafes on the weekends, but I think the owner just did not want us taking up a table anymore. After the café, we walked to the main square in Glama Stan (Old Town) before heading towards a place where we could hear live music playing. The Royal Guard was performing in the main circle of the Royal Palace. We watched them for a bit before heading into some of the nearby small shops and then headed off island (Glama Stan is one of many islands in Stockholm) to meet our tour.
The tour was a bus that turned into a boat. The bus took us around the city and explained the main attractions. After the city tour, we headed into the water to view the city from the river and canals running through the city. While on the tour, it was funny looking at all the peoples' faces as we drove by on the bus-boat.
After the tour, we headed back to the hotel to change and get ready for dinner. Laney and I shared a bottle of wine at dinner and then headed to a wine bar nearby after. We talked to the waiter for a while, and he gave us some reconditions for the places to go at night for the upcoming days. After a bit, I headed back to the ship because I had a field class the next day, so I had to sleep on the ship the night before.
