Travel day was full of nerves and excitement. The airport was a bit of a disaster. The flight to Amsterdam was cancelled yesterday and caused much confusion in the gate area. International check in area was also a disaster thanks to the covid regulations. After the craziness the flight made it off just a little late. I got really lucky and had no one next to me so i got to fully lay down!!! I ended up getting a couple hours of sleep on the plane!! (That doesn’t usually happen, so I’m excited).
Traveling long distances alone on planes is kinda lonely hahah. Flight to Rome got delayed a little. Arrived and got to the abnb smoothly. Met my “roommates” for the week. The place is really cute, the owner talked to us for an hour and gave us a entire walk round! He even offered to buy us tickets for the monuments, he’s so nice!! Then once I settled, I walked to Vatican City with the SAS girls i just met. I was smiling under my mask the entire time. I am so happy to be in Italy!!!
The abnb guy left us a bottle of champagne, so natural we drank it. Then bought more… but anyway I had so much joy today. We then just walked around Rome and just looked around and I loved it. Finally made out way back and then drank some more champagne. Then we made our way back to the abnb and played some cards games. We got to know each other, it was very fun :) I cannot wait to see what’s next. Thank you mom and dad :))
